Ten years ago this month, The Breakers embarked on an ongoing partnership with an interior-design firm credited with playing “a critical role” in the resort’s 21st-century evolution.

It’s why numerous interior spaces—from restaurants, retail venues and guest rooms—during the past decade have undergone transformations at the 1896-founded hotel and its nearby properties.

The Breakers’ reported average annual reinvestment of $25 million for revitalizing facilities helps fund all the design work, but the ingenuity lies in large part with New York-based Tihany Design.

The internationally regarded firm has “played a critical role in our resort’s evolution,” The Breakers’ CEO Paul Leone told the Daily News. “With each project, they capture the timeless Palm Beach lifestyle while balancing preservation and modernization.”

For years, Tihany Design has been renowned for its work in nameplate hospitality venues — from The Beverly Hills Hotel and the Four Seasons Dubai to New York’s Per Se and Daniel restaurants.
